Chimes Maryland Clinical Services
Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, Psychology Associates are responsible for developing Behavior Plans with input from CHOICE team members, individuals served, and their guardians. These plans which may include the use of restrictive procedures, are designed to decrease challenging behaviors as well as to increase appropriate behaviors and adaptive skills.
Psychology Associates present Behavior Plans and Annual Review Summaries to the
Human Rights Advisory Standing Committee for review and approval. Further they provide training about carrying out the plan to staff members working with the individuals and develop data forms, as needed, so behaviors can be monitored daily at residential and day sites.
Intervention Strategies are written for those individuals who receive psychotropic medications, have less frequent and severe behavioral issues and do not require the use of restrictive procedures. Both Behavior Plans and Intervention Strategies include functional assessments, which indicate the antecedents, consequences, and functions of target behaviors. As needed, Psychology Associates provide counseling for individuals served to address on-going social issues or to help them resolve crises.
Clinical Services also includes components of Admissions, Review and Discharge Planning, Database and Records Management.
The Medical Suite provides healthcare for individuals served including: primary care, coordinating specialty care and nursing care. Nursing services include a review of each individual's needs on a regular basis. A physician is available and a nurse practitioner is always on call.
