Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems Holcomb has acquired affiliates and subsidiaries that extend its range. In 1997 the Alcoholism and Addictions Council of Delaware County brought its extensive resources to Holcomb, placing the agency squarely in the area of substance abuse treament. Two years later another such group, Open Door, Inc., of Delaware, became an affiliate. And Holcomb's subsidiary TOVA uses the medium of drama to give a voice to people facing challenging personal and social issues. This past year, Holcomb doubled the size of its home office in Exton, including a new outpatient treatment suite; opened an office in Allentown to provide wraparound mental health services for children and outpatient mental health treatment for adults; and opened an office in Dover, Delaware, its third in the state. Project Reach, the agency's mobile crisis intervention service inaugurated a 24-hour teen hotline that has exceeded projected calls in its first month of operation. And Open Door has just started a karate program for young people to help them let off steam in a healthy way.
