Clinical Services - Delaware

Many of our participants, especially those with multiple disabilities, are prone to challenging behavior. They need to learn how to live in the community, accept the rules of the workplace, and relate well to other people if they are to reach their full potential.

That is why each Chimes Delaware participant has a case manager and a behavior analyst who develop an Essential Life Plan, establishing personal goals and identifying the behavior treatment options that are to be integrated into all programs. Participants learn to manage their own behavior in order to acquire new skills more readily and move toward less restrictive work and living arrangements.

We also provide health care services through staff nurses in our vocational, habilitative, and residential programs. A nurse works with families or other caregivers to understand individual medical needs, monitor participants, teach wellness, and evaluate and sometimes treat illnesses and injuries. If necessary, the nurse will refer the patient to a doctor, therapist, or other health care specialist. Those who want to continue using their own healthcare providers may do so, of course, with the full cooperation and assistance of our clinical staff.
