| Supported Employment
- Maryland |
This program trains adults (over 18) for employment in the community. Jobs are available either in enclaves (a team working under a Chimes professional) or individual placements, and they provide at least 20 hours a week of paid work. Participants receive job training, placement, follow-up support, and counseling. In some cases, such as enclaves, Chimes may still be the worker's employer, but the job site is always in a setting where there are other employees who do not have disabilities.

Major areas of employment include janitorial, clerical, packaging and assembly, retail and warehousing. Food service is a Chimes specialty. We provide general training in health department regulations and specific vocational training for jobs as dietary aides, dining room and dish room attendants, utility workers, prep cooks, retail salespersons, and cashiers. Some of our graduates find jobs in our own food service operations, while the rest are hired by restaurants and other establishments in the community.
