Chimes Maryland
In 1947, The School of the Chimes was founded by a group of parents who wanted a program enabling their children with moderate mental retardation to reach the highest level of function possible. It was the first school of its kind in the state of Maryland. From these parents' vision grew Chimes, a not-for-profit, nonsectarian agency, assisting thousands of people of all ages and varying levels of ability. Today, Chimes operates agencies in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Israel. Our wide range of programming includes habilitative, residential, educational, vocational, employment, amd support services geared to meet individual needs.
